Quincy—the Alpha

Having been with Jill since the fall of 2003, Quincy’s worked with Jill the longest. And it’s no easy task (so he’d tell you). He’s laid on her lap through a marriage and divorce; the loss of several human and furry loved ones; the termination of long-term relationships; and a serious car-accident-related injury.  As much as he doesn't mind supporting her through hard times, his hope is for Jill to be happy, healthy, and completely at peace.

Sometimes Jill forgets just how much she depends on him, too, but not to worry—he just leaves his infamous logs on the rug to get her attention. It works like a charm!

Although he’s obviously in charge of the pack here, he doesn’t taunt the others unless they cross him.  Except for Puff, but she's a dog and deserves it anyway.

Quincy’s outlook on life mirrors his coloring—everything is black and white. Between his brutal honesty and dry sense of humor, the "Q-Man" is one witty kitty.

Holly—the Princess

According to her adoption certificate, Holly was born on March 19, 2007, and came into Jill’s life in August of the same year. She’s the ubiquitous girly-girl—from her insistence on being called “princess” to her affection for all things pink.

Constantly vocal, Holly whines when she’s unhappy and sings quite melodiously when she’s blissful. She’s also the most curious of Jill’s pack—and thus the most prone to mischief—and will risk anything (even a week without kitty treats) to have a little fun when the inkling strikes her.

Bella "Puff" Dog—the Clown

Since her first night on the Ark (as a 7-month-old puppy back in October of 2010), Bella has been referred to by several unofficial titles:  Missy, Puppy Girl, Spaz, Big Ham, etc.  As much as Quincy had hoped the moniker he bestowed upon her—Ugh, the Damn Dog—would outlive Bella's residency, it was Jill's favorite nickname that finally stuck.  "Puff" is a fuzzy buff-colored Cockapoo, or Cocker Spaniel/Poodle hybrid, who was supposed to be Jill's trainee but ended up her adoptee.  Her new locale boasts plenty of yummy treats to gnash on, long walks to sniff along, toys to de-stuff, friends to charm, and cats to menace.

Highly sociable (and distractable) by breed, Puff is a living testimony to the power of positive reinforcement training.  Although she hasn't quite mastered everything a canine good citizen should know, she's well on her way to success—without the use of those nasty compulsion tactics.

With that ever-wiggling tail and sweet tongue-hanging grin, this dog is apt to break the hardest of human spirits.  Even after she's shredded every ounce of toilet paper in your house.

Hannah—the Semi-Tamed Shrew

Born in the spring of 2007, this “brown otter” mini-rex rabbit is the youngest and feistiest of Jill’s "Ark." If she were a human, she’d be the type whom most would label a bitch and honor with an extremely wide berth. But Hannah’s hostility isn’t unwarranted—she simply expects to be respected and isn’t afraid to grunt and even lunge at anyone who forgets this courtesy. Don’t enter her space without prior notice. Don’t displace anything she’s organized without consulting her. And don’t dare attempt to touch her without asking her permission if you value the skin on your fingers.

Since Hannah crossed over on October 1, 2011, you won't have to worry about offending her physical body.  But her saucy, no-holds-barred spirit that carries on from the other side will keep even your most menacing intentions in check.

George—the Amiable Soul

George, a “black otter” mini-rex rabbit, flagged Jill down for a rescue effort in the summer of 2006 when he was about four months old. Docile and laid back, George is the perpetual optimist (except when it comes to dogs…but he’s working on that).  There's very little this bunny lets bother him. In fact, he won’t even listen to an apology without explaining why there is no need for it.

George treads lightly around others who seem edgy or hesitant, but always errs on the side of making friends. Everyone one who meets him comes to adore him.  He won’t give up until they do.

That's only a small part of what made it so difficult when George decided to cross over on March 24, 2011.  His spirit will live on forever, but his sweet furry form is sorely, sorely missed.
